Peru 2010
This past September nine brothers and sisters of
Faith Fellowship Church went to Arequipa, Peru.
The mission was to go to an Orphanage and several food Ministries to do vacation
bible school and to give these beautiful people, young and old the opportunity
to see with the help of reading glasses. We helped provide improved vision to
over three-hundred Peruvians with new glasses. We also, trained young Peruvians
to make their own glasses for those that could not come out of the mountains to
the clinics.
One man, with tears in his eyes opened his bible and started to read. He could
not see to read his bible for many years.
The orphanage we went to was so awesome. Jose' and his family run a Christian
orphanage.
When we went in and Jose' said lets pray and ALL the children went down on their
knees. We were so overwhelmed with love and emotions. You could see their love
in Christ.
One, young lady came to them when she was eleven years old and pregnant. Now at
the age thirteen has a beautiful baby boy. She got up and sang to us.
In Peru the children at the age thirteen are sent out on the streets in most
orphanages. But Jose' could not. He is trying to start a home for the older
children to live. They will work in the home and/or go to college just to keep
them off the streets.
Everyone of us, Pastor Dave, Fritz, Joy, Emily ,Adam, Donald, Kelly, Able, and
myself came home feeling that we got more out of this trip than what we gave. We
were touched with their unconditional love and we were all truly blessed.
God is good all the time !
